Priest
Fr. Maria Lucas Gunalan
Maria Lucas Gunalan, eldest of four children, born to catholic parent, from the Shrine Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health, Vailankanni, Tamil Nadu, India. Has a sister and two brothers. Came to Jamaica as a postulant for the congregation of the Missionaries of the Poor in 1993, and having discerned out left Jamaica in 1997and went back to India. Returned to Jamaica in 2005 as secretary cum musician at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Bay Farm Road, Kingston 11. Applied to the Archdiocese in 2008 and accepted into the Pre-Seminary Programme along with Fr. Mario Burton in 2009. Studied philosophy at the Ponitifical Seminary of St. Thomas Aquinas, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and graduated with a Masters in Divinity from St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, Boynton Beach, Florida in 2018. Ordained a priest on July 01, 2018. Served as interim pastor for the parishes of Atonement and St. Francis Xavier, before being assigned as a pastor for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on January 2019. Transferred to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in 2023. Currently teaches Liturgy and Introduction to Christian Worship at St. Michael’s College.

Sr. Doris Osondu
Hailing from Nigeria, the Sisters from the Congregation of the Daughters of Divine Love (DDL) have been doing their work at the St Joseph Catholic Church since the 12th of September 2006, with the assignment of Sister Doris Osondu. The Sisters have been heavily invested in the education sector of the parish in schools such as St Catherine High, St Catherine Prep & St Catherine Primary.

Church Council President
Dr. Tina Beale
Dr. Tina Beale is a lecturer at the University of Technology, Jamaica in the Faculty of the Built Environment. Between 2015 and 2018 Tina received a Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue doctoral studies at the
University of Reading, (Reading, Berkshire, England). and in June 2021, she became a Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Scholar. Tina currently serves as the President of the Church Council and chairs the music ministry and building committee.

Secretary
Margaret Holmes
Ms. Holmes became a member of the Catholic Church when she was baptized and Confirmed through the RCIA programme in April 2000.
She is a trained Sacristan and Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharist.
She served as member of The Church Council and St. Vincent de Paul at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and was also a member of the Church Council at St. Bartholomew in St. Thomas. She is now a member of this St. Joseph Catholic Church for the past six years.
